Maple Grove Pizza

Only Greg and I fully understand the awesomeness of this day.  On this day in 2007 Greg and I spent our first night together, in the back of his Explorer, in the freezing cold rainy mountains of Reading, PA.
The following morning I got my first "fix" of nitromethane.  After all it was the Toyo Tires Nationals for the NHRA Powerade Championship at Maple Grove Raceway.

Thats Greg in the orange collared fleece, Im right behind him.  Pretty cool we made ESPN2.

We drove up the night before since its a 4 hour drive.  Apparently (i know now), it rains up there all the time.  Final eliminations were rained out so we decided to stay the night again.  That afternoon/evening we drove around looking for food for what seemed like forever.  Then we found a pizza place about 5 miles away from the track.  We drove in the wrong direction the first time. We went in and ordered.  Alot the the crew guys from the top fuel and funny car teams were in there eating too.  We grabbed a 6 pack of Smirnoff Ice on our way back to the track to spend the night.

Pizza and beer in the back of a car! Haven't done that in so long.

That weekend was awesome.  Not many weekends stack up to that one.  Bradenton is close.  Englishtown is too, but i was SUPER pregnant.  Of course the weekend we had B cant be touched by Maple Grove.  But Maple Grove was just us, no one and nothing else.

Do you have a weekend or a day with your spouse that you remember every detail like it was yesterday?
